ABOUT LEAD DEADWOOD
Lead / Deadwood are two separate cities that are commonly referred to together because of their close proximity to each other. Lead / Deadwood were founded around 1876 and 1890 after the discovery of gold. This discovery led to a massive influx of thousands of people, including leading figures of the Old West. The cities continue to live up to the Old West name by being the gambling center of the Black Hills.
