ABOUT PIEDMONT VALLEY
Piedmont Valley is the combination of 3 Black Hills communities: Piedmont, Summerset, and Black Hawk. Piedmont and Blackhawk were founded around 1890, while Summerset was incorporated as a separate community much more recently in 2005. The 3 communities consist mainly of suburban areas, with majority of the populous being employed in nearby Rapid City.
