ABOUT RAPID CITY

Rapid City is the second largest city in South Dakota, and the largest in the western half of the state. It was founded in 1876 after the gold rush brought settlers there, and named after the creek that runs through it, called “Rapid Creek”. It is home to the City of Presidents public sculpture exhibit, the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, and some of the best hiking and biking activities you’ll find in the midwest. Rapid City has immediate access to I-90, and it’s a 30min-1hr drive to anything in the Black Hills.
