ABOUT STURGIS
Sturgis was founded in 1878 and incorporated 10 years later. It originally served as a supplier of troops to Fort Meade in the late 1800’s. It is now host to one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the world, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. It has been in operation since 1938 and brings in hundreds of thousands of visitors, boosting the local businesses of the entire Black Hills.
